HAPPY NEW YEAR!

As many of you know, my newest book (Wake the F Up) is now with an editor, so I will be sharing only bits and pieces while I wait for the published version.

Many of you have asked about my book. You have asked:

  • What is the book about?

  • How can it help me?

In a nut shell my book is a PRACTICAL process of waking up to who you are. It describes the ways in which we are all asleep (the Human Condition) and are controlled by our subconscious egoic-state and our shadow/pain-body. It provides specific ways to transcend this conditioning and break free.

To better explain, I decided to provide you with the following excerpt from my book (entitled Chapter 7: The Five steps). Enjoy!

WAKE THE F UP

CHAPTER 7. THE FIVE STEPS

“Personal evolution begins when the desire to be free of the tyranny of the ego is greater that the need for psychological safety.” Amoda Maa Jeevan

This chapter brings together the entire book into your day-to-day life. In chapters 1 through 6 you learned about the human condition, the ego and the shadow and here you will learn how to apply all you have learned so you can notice, transcend, integrate, let go and ultimately, wake up.

Here you will be walked through the following the five-step process of awakening, with a real-life example:

Step 1. Take full responsibility

Step 2. Notice and release your thoughts.

Step 3. Transcend your egoic-mind.

Step 4. Integrate your shadow/pain-body.

Step 5. Let go and live in the flow

Here you will learn how use any life situation, any irritation or any trigger to transcend your ego, integrate your shadow and surrender to your true Self. In other words, you can use your daily discomforts to wake up.

WHAT ARE THE FIVE STEPS?

“Awareness is always the first step because if you are not aware, there is nothing you can change. If you are not aware that your mind is full of wounds and emotional poison, you cannot begin to clean and heal the wounds and you will continue to suffer. There is no reason to suffer. With awareness you can rebel and say, “This is enough.”” As Don Miguel Ruiz, “The Four Agreements:”

The five steps involve using a recent problem, a triggering event or a difficult situation and simply walking through each of the steps. For example, you might have had a workplace dispute or an argument with your partner or a family member. You might be anxious, lost or sad. You simply go through each of the following steps.

The first step is taking full responsibility. This means taking full ownership for your entire life including your thoughts, your beliefs and your actions. As you accept ownership, you will begin to see that many struggles are opportunities to free you from limiting beliefs and fears in addition to realizing your true self.

In the second step you will surface your hidden thoughts about the situation. When you do, you will come to see that your thoughts are very powerful and impacting most of your actions. In some cases, they are driving you nuts! You will see how you make up assumptions and stories about what is happening and realize you have the power let your thoughts go.

In the third step you will surface your ego. You will do this by looking at your thoughts and behaviors, especially blaming and judging (and other egoic-behaviors). You will then transcend them by understanding the motivations of your ego and realizing they no longer serve you.

In the fourth step you will surface your unconscious beliefs and fears that are lurking in your shadow. You will realize that they are driving your behaviour and often at the root of your problem. You will do shadow-work to uncover your beliefs (and the six universal false beliefs) and integrate them in a multi-level way.

In the fifth step you will let go and start living with the flow. This step involves three steps: Stop, Observe and Surrender. These actions take you beyond the egoic mind and through direct experience, and self-inquiry you will uncover the True essence of who you are and start living from this place or awareness.

The ultimate aim

The ultimate aim of the five steps is “equanimity” or a more awakened state. You will be able to see how your mind (thoughts, fears and beliefs) are impacting you and take back control. As you work through every irritation you will peel back layers of fears and beliefs so that you can your live in a less fearful way. You will be able to live more in the present moment with more awareness of all that is occurring.

Over time, this five-step tool will seem like second nature and although you will likely get pulled off balance (that’s life), your capacity to stay in harmony and centered will increase every single time you use it. You will gain back clarity and control over your life while moving towards a more natural awakened state where you can access peace at any time. [END]
